Long-Form Visual Narrative
Andy Anderson's photojournalism was too raw, too immersive, too alive for print to contain. When he brought "Dangerous Jobs" to AARP — a photojournalism concept documenting workers over 50 thriving in extreme environments — I made the call to take it to the web, where the photography could breathe and the storytelling could unfold at its own pace. The edit was brutal; the images were extraordinary and choosing what to leave out was as much a creative act as what remained. I designed the single-scroll experience, commissioned the writer, and shaped the interviews into a narrative that matched the ambition of the photography. The industry agreed — ADC, D&AD, Webby, and SPD all recognized it.
