New York Times and Field & Stream: Leaders in Editorial
Between them, they represent 250 years of editorial dominance — two institutions that have defined standards across generations. These were formative. At The New York Times Magazine, I worked as an Art Director collaborating directly with editors, creative directors, and photo editors within one of the most demanding editorial environments in American media. At Field & Stream, as Art Director and first time leading a design team, the challenge was modernizing an iconic brand for a younger audience without surrendering the authority that made it legendary. The redesign leaned into stronger design, art direction, and contemporary infographics while balancing service content with the literary long reads its heritage demanded. The brand had to feel inherited, not reinvented.
